Health Tips-66: Strokes often happen in the Bathroom

A professor with the National Sports Board has been advising people not to wet the head and hair first, when bathing, as this causes the body to adjust its temperature too quickly because we are warm-blooded.  This causes the blood to rush up to the head, which may cause capillary or artery breakage, resulting in a fall and stroke.

The right way to shower is to start wetting the body from the feet up to the shoulders slowly. A sensation of vapour coming out of the crown on the head or bristling of the body hair may be felt by some people.  This is helpful for people with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even migraine.
